CHRONIQUES DE LA TERRE PLATE - BATTLEFIELD CHESS

 Hello all, 

As mentioned in the latest post, I am quite fond of chess. Fond enough so I have had in my mind this project for a solid 15 years now... That represents quite a few sketches crafting this toy-world. I have tried to give up this project a few times as it's a bit insane and tough to create. It keeps coming back whenever I draw for fun.

The original idea is to draw a game of chess for what it is : a tactical war. Now let's imagine that each piece from the game was giant-sized compared to human. The humans in this war would have to survive through the conflict while playing the game through the giants.

I have come up with a few different beta versions including a webtoon... Eventually, a Comic Book, or a Graphic Novel if you will, for children from 10 years old will be the final form.

Besides, a great news recently came up as the CNL (Centre National du Livre) has advocated me some help to carry out my project. I am so glad and thankful about that.

So I am not sure what are the next steps but I will just keep going and sharing my work here and there. I really want to get this book done in the near future.

I realize it's has been ages since I last published anyting. A few comic books were issued in the meanwhile. For instance 3 volumes of the serial "Au nom du pain" with Gaudin at the scenario and still with Burgazzoli Cabrera colouring. That book which I have just completed, also based on a movie by Nicolas Vanier went smoothly as its soothing content made the containment easier (sort of).  You may appreciate Roberto Burgazzoli Cabrera's work on the colouring of page 12

Nice story, out this october. And now, you ll find the very first page of the next Comic books (it is planned to be a 4 books arc) with Jean Charles Gaudin as scenarist. Also published by Glénat.

BUSY BEE !

Hi there…So…  Lately, I ve been quite busy and a few comic books have been issued with Glénat as a publisher.

The second volume of Goering 's brother (from a true story). Picture was taken in Bruxelles during "Fete de la BD". Nice time there.

That one has just come out. Though adapted from a motion picture, it is also inspired by a true story and was a very pleasant book to make.

The movie director from "Donne moi des ailes" (Nicolas Vanier) was happy enough with it so he gave me a new movie to comic book job. So here are the first two pages.

Hi all,
this year starts with the end of a 20 years monthly press publication in which I got my very first pages published nearly 2 decades ago. It s quite sad.

Probably because I feel I should have posted more things this the last couple of years, I now post a recap of the soon to be published "Art du crime" at Glenat ;  a venisian romantic comic revolving around the world of theatre. Story by Omeyer and Berlion with Christian Gael in charge of the colors.

2018 already !

So it's already been a couple of years since the last post. It certainly goes fast. Here's a drawing I managed to pull out without sketching first. slug speed though, it took me 4 month to complete it slowly slowly.

BAPA HAGAN

It s been a while since my sweet Delphine Bodet and I were planning something together and it took shape through an internet-based hybrid form of media launched by pioneer cartoonists (Balak and Malec) named"Turbomedia". FYI you can find a few samples made by newbies (including us) here !
So, anyway, together, we are now :

and for our very first Turbomedia production, we chose to help a scientific project based in Malaysia :

HOSCAP, yup, that's them. So the idea here is to create an audience and appreciation for a little know and quite mysterious animal endemic to Borneo island : the hose's civet so we came up with that.
